CAST specializes in serving the academic community through its emphasis on high quality university courses in geospatial theory and method. These include courses in geographic information science (GIS), global positioning systems (GPS), cartography, remote sensing, image interpretation, photogrammetry, high-density surveying, and spatial statistics.  These courses provide students with a range of research opportunities and career options.

Campus geospatial courses are typically offered in one of the CAST teaching laboratories in the JB Hunt Center for Academic Excellence. The online courses support an undergraduate Certificate of Proficiency in Geospatial Technologies as well as a Graduate Certificate in Geospatial Technologies.
