Researcher Adam Barnes conducts research in Texas

The Center for Advanced Spatial is dedicated to research and applications in geospatial analysis and modeling, enterprise spatial databases, remote sensing, digital photogrammetry and geospatial interoperability and has been selected as a Center of Excellence by Leica Geosystems, Intergraph Corporation, Oracle Corporation, Trimble Navigation Ltd., Sun Microsystems, Skyline Software, Definiens Imaging Software, Safe Software, PCI Geomatics, eSpatial Systems and is involved in a multi-year Cooperative Research and Development Agreement with ESRI.

With funding from sources like the National Science Foundation, CAST has assembled a complementary and integrated suite of instruments and software that can be used to study the human past. CAST research equipment is used for research projects all over the country, as well as in more than twenty countries worldwide, and is available to faculty and students for non-commercial research in surveying, global positioning systems, geophysics, remote sensing, high density survey, and photogrammetry.
